Where it all Began
1945
FOUNDED IN SPRINGFIELD MASSACHUSETTS
Rita M. Tremble, the mother of 10 children, started Valley Communications Systems, Inc., originally known as Valley Cinema, Inc., focused on the sale of cameras and sound systems for cinemas throughout New England.
1949
Valley adds Sound Systems
Shortly after Rita saw an opportunity to expand and started engineering sound amplification systems for churches and auditoriums.
1952
Valley starts selling movie equipment with the addition of movie cameras
In addition to camera sales and service, Valley further expanded into the projection equipment business, setting Valley Cinema up to be the one stop shop for motion picture projectors, cameras, film and service in the Pioneer Valley.
1955
Valley enters the security business
Within a decade of its founding, Valley Cinema expanded again to include the sales and support of security systems.
1970
Valley needs a bigger home!
All of this growth came with a need for more space, so in 1970 Valley Cinema moved from its humble store front home, to the 40,000 square foot building VCS still occupies today.
1971
Making Bold Moves
Being a true innovator and risk taker, Rita and Valley Cinema saw a great opportunity and in 1971 decided to take on the communications giants of the time and enter the telephone business placing Valley Cinema in direct competition with the industry leaders of the time, AT&T ("Ma Bell").
Though fighting AT&T would prove to be quite the undertaking, with legal challenges, mysterious accidents, cut lines and push back from union workers. Rita and Valley Cinema stayed the course and is still recognized as one of the largest independent interconnects in the communications industry.

1980's
Growth of AV Division
Leveraging community, state and government contacts, Valley grew into the AV market supporting classrooms, conference room technology, overhead projectors, and engineering audio systems scaled to fit the customers needs.
1993
VALLEY’S NAME DROP
With so much growth it was time to change the Valley Cinema name to something that better reflects the diversity of its products and services: Valley Communications Systems. Along with the name change came a new culture that embraces the ever changing AV landscape, keeping VCS on the cutting edge of integration, innovation, and services.
2010
Culture of Change
Valley embraces and adapts a culture of change, shifting our business blend and client type to be an established, steady force in the AV industry.
2015
Partnership
High priority was placed upon building new and fostering existing partnerships. Valley’s partner relationships are the lifeblood of the company, and we will continue to go above and beyond for our partner accounts.
2020
75 Years Young
In 2020, Valley celebrated its 75th anniversary. Incorporated on VJ Day in 1945, Valley has continued the legacy of attentive customer service, strong relationship building, and custom, creative technology integration.
2023

Valley has announced that in 2023, Michael H. Tremble will assume the role of Chief Executive Officer and Joshua Kranz will take on the role of President, they will continue Valley's legacy of strong leaders including Rita Tremble, Robert Tremble, Jim Tremble, and Edward M. Tremble. Valley’s future looks bright with these two steering the company towards new heights of innovation and growth.
